The York Printmakers annual Print Fair has earned a reputation as North Yorkshire’s best affordable original print fair and brings people from all over the country to view, chat about and buy prints.  

The exhibiting printmakers display their work to visitors, and share a variety of techniques and experiences with visitors.

Patricia Pinder, who travelled from Preston to last years Print Fair, said: “I have wanted to attend one of your exhibitions for a couple of years and I have not been disappointed. There’s an incredible treasure trove of talent and creativity.

“Talking to some of your members, you have absolutely inspired me to try printmaking.

“I am so looking forward to having some time to be creative and try out some simple printmaking techniques.”

York Printmakers added: “There will be plenty to see at our Print Fair, including etching, linocut, collagraph, monotype, screen print, solar plate, Japanese woodblock, lithography, stencilling, and gel plate printing.

“Come and chat with the artists behind the prints.”

Some members will also be teaching printmaking courses at the fair.

Hundreds of original prints will be on display and available to buy, and entry is free.

The event takes place in the Chapel and the Harriet Room at York Cemetery, in Cemetery Road, York, on September 21 and 22 from 10am-5pm.
