ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition announced an update on Wednesday after the discovery of an error with the scoring.
The contest says after a secondary review of the scoring sheets, a point calculation error was discovered and an update was made to the final standings.
For the 2026 State Division, Cave People from Space won first place for their sculpture titled “Creature from the Snack Lagoon”.
Windy City Snowmen received second place for their sculpture called “Our Founding Father” and Snowbra Kai came in third for “The Witch King”.
Competition officials say they have reviewed the internal tallying procedure to ensure something like this does not happen in the future.
The contest took place from February 11 to 14 at Sinnissippi Park in Rockford.
