Cultivate is preparing for another busy summer festival season with new youth arts initiatives, volunteer opportunities and upcoming lineup announcements.
In its latest community update, the Northumberland based arts organization announced plans to launch “Cultivate, A Zine,” a youth driven arts and culture publication featuring artist profiles, interviews, photography, visual art, playlists and local stories.
Organizers say the project is aimed at young people roughly between the ages of 12 and 18 and will be distributed twice a year throughout the community and at Cultivate events.
Cultivate is currently looking for young writers, photographers, artists, designers and other creative contributors interested in helping produce the first issue scheduled for release in July.
The organization is also expanding its Cultivate Community Garden project at Haute Goat Farm and is seeking additional volunteers to help throughout the growing season.
According to organizers, volunteers gather weekly for gardening, potluck meals and community activities, while also receiving access to several local arts events and concerts as part of the program.
Cultivate is also collecting donated materials for upcoming community projects, including tools, paint, lumber and gardening equipment.
Festival organizers say announcements for this year’s Road to Cultivate lineup are expected soon, with the full 2026 Cultivate Festival lineup scheduled to be unveiled July 2 during the opening night of Road to Cultivate.
Cultivate says its mission continues to focus on accessibility, belonging and community connection through arts programming and events across Northumberland.
