A collective project brings together Homo Faber Fellowship, Doppia Firma, Serapian and Creative Academy to explore the dialogue between craftsmanship and contemporary design
At Casa degli Artisti, craftsmanship and contemporary design come together in a project that places making at its core. This is where Arts & Crafts & Design takes shape, which – in the heart of the Brera Design District – brings together four realities united by a shared research, offering a layered view of contemporary practices that connect tradition, experimentation and design.
Today’s Masters Meet Tomorrow’s Talents is the exhibition presenting the results of the Homo Faber Fellowship 2025/26. Twenty-two pairs, coming from 17 nationalities and active across seven European countries, work side by side for six months following an eight-month training program, creating handmade objects born from the encounter between different skills. The project highlights not only the final outcome, but also the process of exchange between masters and emerging talents, between traditional techniques and contemporary experimentation, offering a broad and international perspective on craftsmanship today.

Alongside this, Doppia Firma, a project conceived by Fondazione Cologni in partnership with Living – Corriere della Sera, renews a format that since 2016 has brought together designers and master artisans on an equal level of dialogue. The 2026 edition is inspired by the theme of the Grand Tour in Italy, reinterpreting local materials and traditions through twelve collaborations involving, among others, designers such as Arthur Arbesser, Sam Baron, Constance Guisset, Elisa Ossino and Ugo La Pietra, invited to work with master artisans on materials linked to specific territories, from Murano glass to ceramics, from wood to metals. A project that places at its core the dialogue between design vision and craftsmanship, without hierarchies between creativity and manual skill.
The journey continues with The Secrets of Mestieri d’Arte by Serapian – a Milanese leather goods maison founded in 1928 – which presents a selection of creations from the Secret collection, highlighting craftsmanship excellence and the variety of techniques involved, including leather working, weaving and material experimentation.
The exhibition concludes with Treasure Island by Creative Academy, a collection of objects inspired by the novel by R. L. Stevenson, developed from a concept conceived by Van Cleef & Arpels for the young talents of the Richemont Group’s design school. The project translates the imagery of the story into objects that explore the relationship between narrative, form and function, offering a contemporary reading of design as a storytelling tool.
In this intersection of practices, languages and generations, Arts & Crafts & Design takes shape as a collective narrative in which design emerges from encounter: between masters and new talents, tradition and experimentation, materials and visions. An invitation to closely observe what happens when craftsmanship once again becomes a driving force for contemporary design.
