Celebrity Makeup Artist, 53, Has a Genius Hack for Sculpting Cheeks originally appeared on Parade.
Who doesn’t love a cheekbone that can slice cheese? It’s possible to get a sculpted look using makeup, no matter your age, but the type of product and where you put it are not necessarily foolproof.
That’s why we looked to celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman, who has done makeup for some of the best cheekbones in the business—Gwyneth Paltrow, Naomi Watts and Cameron Diaz. She’s also done makeup for numerous magazine covers and has her own makeup line, Westman Atelier.
Westman suggests using a tinted highlighter and a blender brush. “Get it on the brush, not too much, not too little and you should really only need one swipe that you blend,” she says in a YouTube video, “How to Sculpt Cheeks in 30 Seconds.”

Westman suggests following the line of the cheekbone with the brush. “Follow the cheekbone and move upwards,” she instructs in another video.
She says you can use whatever is left on the brush to swipe just underneath the eyebrows along the brow bone for a little extra sculpting. Highlighter products reflect light on the high points of the face to create a glowing effect.
In this case, the tinted highlighter can take the place of two products: blush and highlighter in one quick step. Westman recommends her tinted cream highlighter.
