THIS May half term and bank holiday, families are invited to enjoy a packed programme of creative workshops, tours and hands-on activities at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens. Whether basking in the sunshine across 70 acres of sculpture-filled landscape or sheltering from spring showers in Moore’s seven studios, two major exhibitions and dedicated learning spaces, there is plenty to discover for visitors of all ages.
At Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, visitors do not just see the sculptures, they experience the world behind them. Explore Hoglands, Moore’s family home, wander through seven working studios, and encounter 21 sculptures displayed throughout the grounds, including many monumental works.
Visitors can also enjoy two major new exhibitions for 2026: The Art and Life of Henry Moore, featuring more than 80 sculptures, and Shelter Drawings, showcasing 30 artworks in what will be a once-in-a-generation opportunity to see the largest display of Moore’s Shelter Drawings in almost 30 years. The Studios & Gardens is also the only place in the world where visitors can see Moore’s tapestries on permanent display.
Throughout the season, visitors can enjoy a programme of workshops, talks and events included within the admission price including our Mini Moore: Collect workshop, perfect for curious little explorers, this drop in activity invites families to adventure through the gardens with artist Dr Ellie Barrett, gathering natural treasures and transforming them into imaginative artworks inspired by Henry Moore’s love of nature, discovery and sculpture.
With the largest display of Henry Moore’s works anywhere in the world, the Studios & Gardens offers an unrivalled insight into Moore’s life, creativity and legacy, allowing visitors to experience not only the sculptures themselves, but the artist behind them.

Make & Curate: Reimagining the Gardens

Calling all budding makers and curators. In this hands-on Sculpting Studio workshop, families are invited to create miniature sculptures and design their own imaginative sculpture gardens using a wide range of materials. Participants will then step into the role of curator, deciding how and where their artworks should be displayed within their reimagined landscape.

Discover the creative possibilities of eco lithography in this experimental printmaking workshop. Using simple household materials, participants will learn the fundamentals of lithographic printing and create a unique print to take home.
Mini Moore: Collect

Designed for children aged 3–5, these new exploratory sessions with artist and sculptor Dr Ellie Barrett encourage young participants to engage closely with the natural world through collecting, making and arranging found objects.
Part of a six-session programme inspired by Henry Moore’s lifelong fascination with natural forms and collected objects, Mini Moore promotes ecological awareness, curiosity and creativity through hands-on artistic exploration.
In this session, Collect, families will explore the gardens and grounds to gather natural materials and build a shared archive inspired by the surrounding landscape. Participants are encouraged to return for future sessions to experience the full creative journey.
Texture, Touch, Draw

Explore sculpture through touch in these interactive drawing sessions inspired by one of Henry Moore’s favourite techniques: shut-eye drawing. Participants will create quick sculptural forms before drawing another person’s sculpture using only their sense of touch as a guide. The workshops encourage playful experimentation with texture, observation and sensory perception.

Join members of the curatorial and archive teams for an informal one-hour tour of the twenty-one sculptures displayed throughout the grounds. Beginning outside the Visitor Centre, the tour offers insight into Moore’s artistic process, the stories behind the works, and the ideas and inspirations that shaped them.
Standing Shells

Growing Moore: Sculpting from Seed

Join us in the gardens for a collaborative planting workshop that transforms sculpture into a living artwork. Participants will help plant flowers within a mesh sculptural structure, creating an evolving installation that will continue to grow and change throughout the season. Visitors are invited to return over the coming months to see the sculpture bloom from seed to full form.
